LOC Information

The Cornwall & IOS Local Optical Committee (LOC) is made up of optical professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality eye care and supporting the interests of optical professionals across Cornwall.

LOC members play an important role in representing the profession locally, working with optical professionals and practices, the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and local hospitals to support and develop optical services.

LOC members are remunerated for their time spent undertaking LOC duties. If you are an optical professional interested in working with the Cornwall & IOS LOC, you can register your interest by emailing us at the email address below. Cornwall & IOS Local Optical Committee holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year, usually in June. All are welcome to attend the AGM and hear about the work of the LOC, its activities over the past year and plans for the year ahead.

The AGM is usually followed by a CPD session, providing an opportunity to gain relevant professional development alongside the meeting. The AGM and CPD session are generally held virtually during an evening, although arrangements may vary from year to year.

Please keep an eye on our newsletter for further information, including dates, timings and details of how to attend.

Cornwall & IOS Local Optical Committee currently meets approximately every six weeks, with meetings generally taking place on a Monday evening.

The majority of our meetings are held virtually to make the most efficient use of LOC resources and minimise unnecessary expenses. This also allows optical professionals from across Cornwall to attend more easily.

If you are interested in attending an LOC meeting, please complete email us using the below email address including the nature of your interest.

A member of the LOC will then contact you with an invitation and details of the next meeting.
